TAKE YOUR ART SKILLS TO THE NEXT LEVEL!

TEEN AFTER SCHOOL ART

IN-STUDIO & VIRTUAL

Teens are inspired through this long-standing, accomplished art program to develop a new level of drawing and painting skills with instruction by artist, Hayley Mayne both virtually and in the studio. Students gain a greater understanding of art principles and art elements through intensive art exercises for the first four weeks of each session. Each student is dedicated to independent study and the opportunity to explore limitless possibilities for the next four weeks! CREATING A SAFE SPACE

Please see individual course registration descriptions for mask requirements. We reserve the right to update our mask requirement policy at any time based on infection rates and CDC recommendations. Parents will be emailed prior to class with any mask requirement changes.

Our staff has worked diligently to implement protocols as recommended by the ADHS and CDC, and we are eager to serve our students with their health and safety as our first priority.

We continue taking all precautions recommended including routine cleaning and sanitizing, reduced capacity, single use of aprons and art supplies, maintaining social distancing, and overall being cautious and clean.

MAKE UP CLASSES

We will no longer be able to hold make up classes during regularly scheduled classes. A make up class will be set at the end of the session on a Friday afternoon. During this time we will help students to complete the projects they missed. Each week we will complete a new project, so if your child misses a class, they will not be behind when they return the following week. Parents must register online for this make up class on the calendar.

DESCRIPTION

We are so pleased to provide the opportunity for growing artists to further improve their artistic knowledge and skill in FIVE different workshops! Choose one, or take all five – and gain skills for a lifetime! Each workshop is a stand-alone class, so students are welcome to enroll in as many as they like. Our instructor, Hayley Mayne, will guide students as they explore different subject matter experimenting with a variety of materials. We are excited to be offering the following courses: Colorful Pet Portraits, Seascapes/Water Reflections, Portraiture with Expression, Shiny, Sparkly, Reflective, and Wild Animal Painting.

Class size is limited and designed for mentoring the needs of each student.

Do you love your pets so much that you want to be able to draw and paint them? This is the class for you! In this workshop, we will focus on painting dogs, cats, and other pets using vivid colors! Learn to accurately render fur, facial features, and expression while selecting colors with intention. You will be amazed at what you can create!

Workshop 2 – Seascapes/Water Reflections

Friday, June 18, 2021

Inspired by the abundant beauty and diversity of earth’s natural landscapes, we will begin by focusing on the components of seascapes and bodies of water. On this base of knowledge, you will learn to capture stunning reflections in your seascape and water depictions. You will learn to effectively manipulate color to bring life and vibrancy to your paintings! See how landscape painting can truly help you feel more connected to the world around you.

Workshop 3 – Portraiture with Expression

Friday, June 25, 2021

Any artist who excels at depicting the human face knows practice is key to developing these skills! Learning the basics of human features, as well as placement and proportion, will certainly help bring expression and life to your work. Learning to really see the face is the key – we will be doing lots of fun and engaging exercises to help build these skills. Before you know it, you’ll be rendering true emotion and feelings in the faces you draw!

Workshop 4 – Shiny, Sparkly, Reflective

Learn to find the beauty in the objects around you, and accurately depict reflective, gleaming surfaces! Focusing heavily on light, shadow, and reflection, you will gain knowledge and skills that you are sure to carry with you for years to come.
